I wanted to share something new that I am working on. Pretty excited to share my little OOAK baby Skeksis doll with you guys. I have never made this kind of a creatures before so it's taken me forever to figure how I like making these things. He will eventually be lightly-adorned with jewelry when I figure out what I want to make for him.
Inspired by the Dark Crystal. I love making weird little bird-like creatures; Jim Henson and the Frouds are hugely inspirational to me. I plan on making more of these little babies and have them up for adoption on my Etsy in the next few months. (Preferably after the holidays.) If you're local though, I will have a few of them for sale at FaerieCon in Seattle, Feb 16th-18th. His grumpy face and round, fluffy body makes me smile. I hope you guys love him as much as I do!
I will keep you all posted on my Instagram for more updates. Follow me here: CreaturesGrimm or CassandraMelena

⏀✴︎☾☽* Petyr's details *⏀✴︎☾☽
▼ This is a white, solid cast 8 3/4" tall unpainted urethane figure.
▼ Some sanding of the seams are required, once all of the sanding/finishing is complete and you have washed or wiped the Bunny's surface, lay down a coat of spray primer before painting. Spray primer or automotive primer can be found at hardware stores in the paint department as well as craft shops. This will help paint stick to the surface of the Bunny. You can usually buy primer in black, grey or white to provide an appropriate color base to work off of. You can then use a variety of techniques to paint the Bunny - craft acrylic works well, airbrushed or even spray paints can also work depending on the design you want. Once the paint is complete, allow it to dry and then hit the Bunny with a few coats of clear acrylic spray- you can use gloss, matte or satin finish! And, voíla! Your Bunny is done and you can display him in whatever you like, he would even look great inside a tall glass cloche!
▼ The original sculpture of this Bunny was made with Sculpey, then molded in a silicone mold and casted in a urethane. I will have a limited amount of blanks and will retire the design once the blanks and painted versions are sold out.
He will be available unpainted on my Etsy shop, June 30th - Creatures Grimm
Petyr sneered. His entire warren bounded through the clover fields, chattering and hopping. Dozens of them now, incessantly hop hopping. Ape creatures screeched to a halt in their monstrous metal box and laughed in their obscene tongue, gesticulating wildly. No doubt they presumed fear and terror among the fields. Petyr knew better though. His cousins and cousins' cousins delighted in their haphazard dance. They fluffed themselves up for an audience. They sought adoration from the apes. He sneered a second time before padding toward a ripe clover, broke fast while staring down a particularly obese ape, and settled in for another monotonous day. If only the wolves would return...
Fiigz the Goblin is made from a plaster cast from my original sculpt. Each cast is sanded, painted and sealed with a wax. A wire loop was imbedded during the curing process in the back for a secure hanging. Please keep in mind the coloring will vary a little because of the lighting. If you want to safeguard the longevity of Fiigz the Goblin, please keep him indoors or under an overhang to keep him safe from inclement weather conditions.

I've been test painting my stone goblin Fiigz this week, lots of trial and error but I think I'm getting happy with some variations. The first pic you see here have some layering stages but I wanted to give some dept to them, add rust, patina and even some gold flux. The lighting in my studio is terrible for photos but I will try and take some better shots once the painting is completed.
Today I've been busy casting my little stone goblins in prep to add some to my shop. I'm not sure how many I will do but for now I'm casting like a mad-woman!
It's that time of year again and I have a 15% off discount of my entire Creatures Grimm Etsy shop! Just use the code BLACKFRIDAY15 at check out. Sale ends Nov. 28th!!

Working on something fun to hang on your wall, and hopefully I can finish him this weekend so I can mold and cast a few of these before the holidays.
Finally got around to shooting some photos of my little DIY horns today. I’m slowly editing, but more images to come for my shop, it really needed the update.
